In The Bag
Yesterday I finally got an important item that was still missing from my Pizzicato Five collection, "In The Bag" (2000).
I was lucky to find it for ¥5000 (half its retail price) on Yahoo! Auctions, in very good condition. Since I've been in Japan I had come across it a few times, but it was usually over-priced. I'm now glad to have my own!
The vinyl bag contains 4x12"'s, 2x7"'s, stickers, and a booklet. The records contain rare analog cuts and exclusive remixes.

Congratulations! That looks really cool! And 5000 yen sounds really good to me!

Definitely a great deal, I got mine about a year ago for around $100 and I thought that was a steal...

Even around $100 I'd think it's alright if it's in good condition. I was expecting that auction to go way up at the last minute, but it seems like no one else was watching. :)

did Pizzicato Five have a boutique at some point?
I remember writing them an email or something years ago (it had to be at least 3 years by now), and they sent me a bunch of stuff ... but I can't remember if they had a store or now
Also - I bought that huge DVD box set thing when it came out over the summer, and I think I saw some commercials on it of Konishi and Maki advertising some of their goods ...
I guess my big question was: did they have a store, if yes, where was it, and did it ever become successful?

As far as I can tell, they never had a premanent shop, but Parco hosted a temporary Pizzicato Five Boutique and Readymade Boutique occasionally (once or twice a year), where P5/Readymade goods and also used items were sold.
I bought one of Konishi's stage shirts there once for ¥500 (though it's too big for me!) and also a bunch of used records that belonged to him and SUNAGA Tatsuo.
It's been a few years since last time. Prehaps they don't have anymore ties with Parco. Anyway I hope it will happen again sometime.

isn't the bag wonderful? i love all the cribbed record jackets. i forget how much i paid for my bag, i think it may have been close to what you paid for yours, or maybe a bit more as it was close to the time when the shop that had it was starting to go under...

i paid way too much for it back then ... i think i even bought a turntable just for this set ... those whacky years ...

Haha. :)
I also bought my current [cheap-but-sound-audible] turntable to listen to the first vinyl-only Readymade International releases.
