Toilet music
Today we went to Kichijōji for some shopping, and we came across a fashion shop called "être au point" which also sells CDs, and the listening booth to preview is a full-fledged toilet imitation, complete with ceramic.
You enter the small room, sit on the toilet, close the door, put on the headphones and push the buttons to select what you want to listen to.
Meanwhile, passersby can watch you through the windows... and probably can't resist imagining what you look like when having a turd.
Nevertheless an interesting concept!

Haha, I managed to resist. There was nothing I felt like listening to. :)
My girlfriend did give it a try and was fun to watch, but sorry, no picture of her on the pot. :)

Golly how could I have missed this place (I live in Kichijoji). Definitely going to check out that fancy toilet for a laugh. Thanks for the info.

It's worth the detour. :)
Kichijoji sounds like a nice place where to live! It's one of our frequent weekend destinations for shopping.

is it for design, or to display how the music sounds in the can?
I don't usually listen to music while taking a grumper, so i'll guess it's for effect.

The idea for toilet music I got somewhere in the beginning of the nineties. I read a sisley booklet, in which a little article was included on toilet music in Berlin bars. I thought that composing toilet music could be really satisfying.
I brought the idea along into the new century. So far I have composed one piece - together with Tibor Macek- that is called toilet music.
More pieces surely will follow. But untill that time I suggest the idea where and when ever I think it's appropriate.
I included the link of this blog to my blogentree,
as one of the laptop variations.
