Japan Flea market in Quicktime VR!

Today we went to the flea market at Chūō-kōen in Shinjuku, and I took this panoramic picture!

The image below is only half of it, and it links to a QuickTime VR movie (720KB) of the whole 360 degrees picture!
You will need QuickTime Player for this to work. When you're ready, click the image and be patient.

Comments are more than welcome! Let me know if you want more or not. :)

All my thanks to my friend Peter in Fiji, who took the time to teach me the basics of panoramic pics! :)

Oh, and I bought a cheap copy of "densha de GO!" for Playstation, a popular game where you have to drive a train and make sure you get to the right place at the right time.

Hello dear Pat, congratulations for your super work,
your panoramic photo is very beautifull...is it possible
to see the 360 degrees one ?

You need to first install QuickTime Player (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/), and then click on the image in my blog.
Once the movie is downloaded you can then move around the panoramic image in QuickTime Player by clicking and dragging.

J'ai encore jamais joué à "densha de go!" (seulement à un simulateur de train semblable sur PC), je ne m'attends pas à y être trop bon mais au moins ca va me divertir un peu. :)
J'ai déjà joué à un bus simulator à l'arcade, et c'était pas mal cool!

That's really cool. Is it a feature on your camera?

No, not at all. I just do my best to take consecutive pics, and then I use some software called PhotoStitch for Mac to merge the pics into one, and one of the formats it can export to is QTVR. :)

Fantastic, Patrick! I have been enjoying QTVR 360 degree panoramas for quite some time, and wondering how to do them myself. My camera's Canon software has a Photostitch program but I never checked to see if it could do QTVR. I must check out that option!

Thanks for reading Lil! :)

I'm sure your PhotoStitch can do QTVR. That software is pretty powerful, so check it out! I'd love to see some panoramic pictures on your site!

Yes, PhotoStitch will do QTVRs... I've done several on my (relatively) old Canon S10!
